BACK OR NECK PAIN
Sciatica neck pain, spinal stenosis neck pain, spinal cord neck pain
Whatever happens to us regarding health the first person to visit will be
the General practitioner or the family doctor. He will examine and try to
give pain killers if you go with back or neck pain and wait for a few days
to see whether you feel better,. If it doesn’t work then he will write a
few investigations, like x-Ray, Blood tests, scan if necessary. Then with
the report he will try to figure out what the real problem is due to and
then he will refer to the Specialists who are the best one to treat the
problem
Usually if one gets back or neck pain he will be referred to an orthopedic
doctor, who has specialized in all problems related to bone. Usually back
pain comes due to the posture in which the patient sits for a long time
or in old age people it is due to arthritis. Neck pain is also some times
related to posture, if your job is such that you bend your head all the
time for example sitting and writing all the time or looking into some thing
bending your head. The doctor will question and then seeing the reports,
advise on what the treatment is.
Some have severe back problems that they get disc prolapsed in which case
they will need operation The Orthopedic surgeon himself will do the operation
and advise bed rest for him. Neck pain patients will be asked to take physiotherapy
for some time and then advised to sleep without pillow. If the pain persists
they might be referred to a Neurologist to rule out that he does not have
any nerve problem. Sometimes the spinal chord may be damaged and he may
need operation to correct it. They will use a rod to keep it straight and
after continuous physiotherapy treatment he will recover slowly.
Auyervedic doctors are good in the treatment of joint pains especially back
and neck pain. They give some oils to use before taking bath These oil pain
killers are very helpful in removing the pain due to arthritis. Now a days
people prefer Auyervedic , or homeopathy or siddha medicines as they feel
that these medicines don’t have any side effects compared to the allopathy
medicines.
Some ladies will be advised to see a good gynaecologist. They tend to get
back pain due to some uterus problems. Some times they will need hysterectomy
to be done after which they will get complete relief from back ache.
Some persons who have some mental worry tend to get neck pain. They will
be treated by a psychiatrist. He will sit and talk with them about their
problems and give them medicines to calm their mind. |
